CONFERENCE DETAILS

     CALL FOR PAPERS

     Proposals for Contributed Papers are requested by June 30, 2005.  Topics of the papers
     should be related to the Conference theme of "Strengths and Weaknesses of Public and
     Private Universities".  Proposals with abstracts should be sent to iche@intconfhighered.org

     REGISTRATION FEES
     Participants   120 US Dollars/90 Euros
     Companions  100 US Dollars/75 Euros
 
     The registration fee includes meals, coffee breaks and a contribution to the Conference costs.
    
Companion fees include the social program.  They should be sent to the Conference bank
     account shown on the registration form, which is included in this brochure and is also
     available on the I.C.H.E. web page: http://www.intconfhighered.org/
regform2005.htm.
 
     ACCOMMODATIONS
 
     The Bilkent Hotel, located on the university campus, is a 4-star hotel with swimming pool
     which offers special rates for I.C.H.E. participants: single US$59, double US$71 (buffet

     mentioning the reservation code for this Conference: ICHE2005.

     Comfortable private rooms will also be available in a university student dormitory (with private
     bath) for $25 per night (breakfast not included but available on campus).  Rooms are single
     occupancy, however adjoining rooms can be reserved.  Those interested should contact

      TRAVEL CONNECTIONS

      Flights into Ankara are generally through Istanbul with a few direct lines from Germany,
      Austria and the Netherlands.  Those who plan to visit Istanbul before or after the
      Conference might consider travelling to or from Ankara by bus, which is comfortable
      and offers good service with the chance to see the Anatolian countryside.

      SOCIAL PROGRAM FOR COMPANIONS

      Visits in Ankara to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the old citadel area, the
      Ataturk Mausoleum and a tour of the city with possibilities for shopping will be arranged
      for the companions in addition to the conference meals at which they will be welcome.

      PRE- AND POST-CONFERENCE TOURS
  
      Visits to places of interest in Turkey such as Cappadocia, Antalya, Ephesus, Pamukkale or
      others can be arranged through your own travel agent or Yanki Agency  in Ankara
